If you’re looking for a unique music venue in Sarasota to listen to live music, look no further than the Myakka River Blues Festival. The festival is held annually on Memorial Day and takes place in the Myakka River State Park, one of Sarasota’s most beautiful locations. You’ll be surrounded by the native Florida fauna, and the night air will be filled with the sounds of blues music.
Previous festival lineups have always pleased all audiences, with styles ranging from Western New York to Americana and crossover blues featuring performances by Steve Arvey, Rooster & Broccoli, Tommy Z, and one of our featured STARs Dottie Kelly, among others.
Throughout the year The Friends of Myakka River organization also host other events that generate funding for critical initiatives needed to protect Myakka’s delicate ecosystems and the park infrastructure. So, pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and head to the Myakka River State Park to enjoy an event that won’t regret!
