Cameroon opened its group stage account on Thursday with a 1-0 loss to Switzerland at Al Janoub Stadium. Breel Embolo put away the game-winning goal in the 48th minute of the match.
Meanwhile, Serbia lost 2-0 to group leader Brazil on Thursday at Lusail Stadium. Richarlison scored both goals in the second half to take all three points for the five-time World Cup winners.
