Five people were shot and killed Friday inside a home in northeastern Maryland, police said.
The bodies of three adults and two children were discovered inside a residence on a cul-de-sac in Elk Mills, located just a few miles from the Delaware state line, Cecil County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Michael Holmes said.
Deputies arrived on the scene just after 9 a.m. and had to force their way into the home. They confirmed the shooting several hours later.
The circumstances surrounding the deaths remained unclear Friday afternoon. No one involved has been identified.
Authorities said there is not a threat to the public at this time.
